Useful Software for Creating Maps

While it is certainly possible for one to purchase expensive cemetery maps made by others and then fill them in, I think that it is in many ways better to make the map yourself. Personally, I use a software called Names in Stone, a free-to-use cemetery mapping software that allows anyone to create maps of cemeteries at no cost. The website’s tools are easy to learn and provide a sufficient amount of function. While the product is perhaps not the most visually stunning, maps created in Names in Stone can contain as much information as one desires and can include multiple headstone pictures. For those who want to create their own maps and are willing to spend the time on research and photographing, Names in Stone is a good choice. That being said, if you know of a better software, feel free to let me know.
